First Aid Instructor Course

Why Attend the First Aid Instructor (FAI) Course?
The First Aid Instructor (FAI) Course is designed for those who want to provide training for and also assessing of all First Aid at Work (FAW) and similar First Aid courses in accordance with the Health & Safety Executive's current Standards and Regulations. You will be taught by an experienced First Aider/Trainer who will extend your training knowledge and first aid awareness to underpin your professionalism and achievement of personal development goals.

Precourse Requirements

  1. A current First Aid at Work Certificate; held for a minimum of 3 years (Persons registered with the Health Professions Council are not required to hold a FAW certificate, PIN required)
  2. A Nationally recognised Teacher/Training Qualification (C&G 7302 / 7303, QTLS or higher)

Course Details
First Aid Instructor is a specialised bespoke qualification delivered on the Friday after our regular 4 day City & Guilds 7303 Course. This provides both the C&G 7303 (required) plus the First Aid Instructor qualification (assuming the student already has an indate First Aid at Work Certificate and three years experience).

However, if a student already holds a C&G 7303, C&G 7407 or Certificate of Education, procedure will be:

  1. Apply for the appropriate Friday after a programmed C&G 7303 Course
  2. Awareness of the requirements to conduct a First Aid at Work and FAW(R) course and the procedure for assessing students' performance.

What you can do after qualifying from the First Aid Instructor (FAI) Course:
Successful completion of the First Aid Instructor Course will permit the Instructor to teach/examine the following courses*:

*To issue valid qualification certificates the Instructor must be attached to a Training Organisation accredited to the HSE.
